According to the UAE government, there are 4 types of visa’s that allow expats to work in UAE which include standard working visas, Green visa, Golden visa and Domestic workers visa. Those who are looking forward to work in UAE can choose any of these residence if they meet all the criteria.

Standard working visa is for 2 years issued to expats to work in private,Government sector & Free zone. The employer must apply for the standard residence visa.

Green visa is for 5 years which is tailored to freelancer/ self-employed and skilled employee, entrepreneurs, and students to the country.

Freelance/self-employed people need to get permit from MOHRE [ Ministry Of Human Resources and Emiratisation] and also need to submit evidence of annual income from self-employment for the previous two years amounting to not less than Dh360,000, or proof of financial solvency throughout their stay in the UAE.

Domestic worker’s visa are contributed to domestic workers who often come from other countries to work in the UAE typically sponsored by their employers. This means that their visa is tied to their employment with a specific household and essential services. The expat looking to be a sponsor has to earn a salary that’s at least Dh25,000. Also, make sure domestic workers are not closely related to the person sponsoring them.
